Terms and conditions.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms set out the general basis for working with designbyhk. A project quotation or agreement may include additional terms that apply to that project.
1. About these terms
“designbyhk”, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to Hadirah Khan, a freelance web designer and developer based in Malaysia. “You” refers to the person or organisation engaging my services.
2. Services and scope
Services may include website strategy, UI/UX design, website development, WordPress work, ecommerce setup, integrations, content support and website maintenance. The agreed scope, deliverables, timeline and fees will be set out in a quotation or written project agreement.
3. Fees and payment
Unless a quotation says otherwise, a 50% deposit is required to confirm a project and the remaining 50% is due on completion, before launch or handover. Domain and hosting are included for the first year where stated in the selected package; renewal fees and third-party charges apply after that period.
4. Revisions and approvals
Each project includes the revision rounds stated in the quotation. Feedback should be provided in a clear, consolidated form. Delays in receiving content, decisions or approvals may affect the timeline.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for supplying accurate information, approved copy, brand assets, images and other materials needed for the project. You confirm that you have the right to use materials you provide and that they do not infringe another person’s rights.
6. Third-party services
Websites may depend on third-party services such as hosting providers, domains, payment gateways, plugins, fonts or analytics tools. Those services are governed by their own terms and availability. Third-party fees are not included unless expressly stated.
7. Intellectual property
Once all project fees have been paid, you receive the agreed rights to use the final website deliverables for your business. I retain ownership of pre-existing tools, reusable code, working methods and materials not created exclusively for the project. I may show completed work in my portfolio unless we agree otherwise in writing.
8. Launch, support and maintenance
You are responsible for reviewing and approving the website before launch. Ongoing updates, maintenance and new features are separate services unless included in your agreement.
9. Cancellation
Either party may discuss ending a project if circumstances change. Work completed and approved costs incurred up to the end date remain payable. Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has started, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Liability
I will take reasonable care in delivering the agreed services, but I do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, search rankings, sales, enquiries or results outside my control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under Malaysian law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The parties will try to resolve any concern in good faith before taking formal action.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the project enquiry form or by email via the contact options on the website.
